**Position Summary**
A trainee confectioner will be an individual who is willing to learn the skills and techniques necessary to become a professional in the art of confectionery baking. The primary goal of a trainee confectioner is to develop proficiency in creating a variety of confectionery products that meet high standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
To prepare and produce Becws Môn’s product range each day within the branch bakehouse, using fresh ingredients, ensuring a consistently excellent standard of quality as regards preparation, baking and decoration, whilst working effectively and efficiently to meet production targets and schedules for stocking and replenishing ready for customer orders.
Working hours - Monday - Friday 08.30-16.30
Location: Becws Mon Bakery, Unit 4, Trade Park, Industrial Estate Rd LL77 7AR
**Essential Functions**:
Without restricting the generality of the general description above, the Trainee Confectioner shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to the following:
1. Assisting senior confectioners in preparing and baking a wide range of confectionery items.
2. Learning and familiarising with different confectionery techniques, recipes, and ingredients.
3. Following recipes and instructions precisely to ensure consistency and quality of products.
4. Preparing and measuring ingredients, such as flour, sugar, butter, and spices.
5. Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, such as mixers, ovens, and molds.
6. Decorating and presenting finished products in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
7. Cleaning and maintaining a tidy and organised work area.
8. Assisting with inventory management, including stock rotation and monitoring ingredient quantities.
9. Learning and complying with health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items.
10. Collaborating with other team members to ensure timely production and delivery of confectionery products.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Passion for baking and confectionery
2. Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and principles
3. Ability to follow instructions accurately and work in a fast-paced environment.
4. Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £8.60-£11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
