Construction Buyer

We have an exciting opportunity for a **Construction Buyer** to join our client’s team based at their head office near **Uckfield**. The role is a **full-time** position offering a salary of** £25,000 to £30,000 a year **depending on experience.

Established for over 30 years, our client is a UK based specialist contractor, which provides its social housing clients with innovative structural repair solutions, including: Masonry Reinforcement, Remedial Lintel Installation, Remedial Wall Tie Installation and Concrete Repair & Protection.

**The daily duties of the Construction Buyer include**:

- Procurement and scheduling of products, materials, plant and equipment.
- Ensuring purchases offer best value.
- Monitoring and reporting of price increases.
- Tracking orders and proactively addressing any failed or late deliveries.
- Arranging the return of nonconforming products.
- Maintaining and developing the supply chain.
- Identification of new products.
- Inventory management and the control of goods in and out.
- Processing of purchase ledger and inventory management records.
- Working closely with Estimating, Contracts and Warehouse Departments.
- Have a background in construction; experience in construction buying an advantage.
- Have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Be numerate with excellent administration and IT skills.
- Be an enthusiastic and proactive team player.
- Have excellent attention to detail with pride in their work.
- Be selfdisciplined and have excellent time keeping.

On the job training will be made available in purchasing and stock control using NetSuite inventory management software.
