Catering Assistant(Casual Hours to Suit)

**Casual Assistants (Flexible Hours to Suit) - 10-month FTC**

At Oakham School, we are looking to recruit and develop a pool of Fixed Term Casual Assistants that can be called on to support our demand for staff within Catering and Domestic Operations, during the School year.

- Do you have regular availability and can pick up work but don’t want the commitment of set hours?
- Do you only want to work when it suits you?
- Do you like the variety of picking up different activities?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions because you want to work according to your personal availability, one of these roles could be just what you are looking for.

Our **Banked Hours** contract does not require you to commit to a set shift pattern per week or a minimum number of hours per week.

You will be contacted with available work and have the option to take up work or decline it.

You must work at least 5 hours **per month** to remain familiar with department duties, have regular manager contact and take up training. These hours can be mutually agreed, in advance and can be varied, month on month.

The rate of pay is **£10.89** per hour.

If you work more than 160 hours, you can earn a bonus of £50 for each 100 hours worked over this amount.

On top of this, if you work more than 560 hours, you can earn a further bonus of £20 for each 100 hours worked after this amount.

Contracts run from 1st September to 30th June, although we are looking for people to start now, for the rest of the School year, until 30th June 2024.

There are opportunities to renew contracts in subsequent academic years or take up regular contracted hours.

**What are the activities I will undertake?**

You’ll mostly be offered work helping on the servery, preparing food, supporting the kitchen or supporting events however you may also be asked to pick up laundry and cleaning duties.
