Maintenance Fitter

**JOB PURPOSE**

To carry out the day-to-day preventative and reactive maintenance actions on business assets using the relevant diagnostic skills which meet production requirements safely and efficiently. Install new plant and equipment as required.

**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Effectively investigate and diagnose faults to carry out repairs to site equipment. Prepare requests for any jobs deemed to require either a high cost or more technical assistance to correct. Record all findings in site maintenance software.
- Carry out routine preventative maintenance checks in line with business requirements across plant, equipment, and buildings to ensure all are in a correct and safe manner. Record all findings in site maintenance software.
- Work with the team to retain appropriate levels of engineering spares through stock counting and re-ordering of parts consumed.
- Direct and assist contract resource as required by business needs.
- Carry out any installation of plant and equipment as requested.
- Display high levels of knowledge and experience in the relevant areas of health and safety legislation to ensure plant and equipment runs safely.
- Follow all company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures including any relevant ISO standards and working procedures.
- Carry out simple electrical repairs, ensuring equipment is isolated prior to exposing electrically ‘live’ components.
- Rotational shift pattern dayshift and backshift.
- 24-hour backshift weekend call out cover.
- Ad hoc duties as and when required.

**Essential Requirements**

Education/Qualifications
- Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Extensive knowledge in welding, pump overhaul, general machine maintenance and pipe fitting preferably in a heavy engineering environment
- Some electrical knowledge
- Experience of a permit system
- Experience of a PPM system
- Good working knowledge Microsoft Office.

**Salary**: £38,936.00 per year
