We are currently looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Environment and Fleet Management Service as an Apprentice Arborist.

As an Arborist apprentice, you will develop skills, knowledge, and experience in all aspects of tree maintenance involving diverse activities such as chainsaw work, aerial tree work, pruning, dismantling and using appropriate machinery such as brushwood chippers.

The apprenticeship consists of attending college to gain appropriate qualifications and functional skills and doing practical work on site to ensure you gain the skills, knowledge and experience to become a qualified Arborist.

If you are interested in this apprenticeship, you must have Maths & English GCSE Grade 4 (C ) or above, or equivalent.

No experience is needed but you will need to have an interest in trees and outdoor spaces, be self-motivated with good communication skills, have the ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions and enjoy outdoor manual work.

The post is 37 hours per week, fixed term for 2 years, with the potential for a permanent role.
