Kumon Assistant

**Job Summary**

We are looking to recruit Assistants to join the existing team at the busy Study Centre located in the centre of Streatham. We currently have students ranging from 3-15 years so the role is well-suited for someone based locally who enjoys working with children.

The position would suit someone in full-time education as well as someone with a family or other part-time work commitments, or a retired person looking for a few hours work per week.

Class times are Monday to Thursdays 4.00-6.00pm and Saturdays (10am-1pm) including school holidays. You will need to be flexible to be present before and after class for setting up, packing away and administrative tasks.

Knowledge of the Kumon is desirable but not necessary as full training will be provided. This may be outside of class hours at a mutually convenient time and will be paid for.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

Responsibilities will include:

- listening to children read
- assisting students when they need help
- setting up and packing away the class
- marking and recording students’ classwork and homework
- **Qualifications and Skills**

Person specification:

- be passionate about working with children of all ages
- friendly and helpful manner
- reliable and punctual
- excellent organisational skills
- excellent communication with children, parents and colleagues
- a keen eye for detail and ability to spot mistakes
- Minimum Grade A in GCSE Maths and English, A Level Maths is desirable

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £8.00-£12.00 per hour
