**Main purpose of the post**:
Skilled accounts officer to perform a variety of accounting, book-keeping, wages and financial tasks.

The person we are looking for will ensure the organisations daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transaction in database
- Inform management and compile reports on activity areas
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable law
- Handle account enquiries from internal and external sources
- Make regular contact with clients to ensure payment
- Generate financial reports for review regulatory authorities
- Constantly update job knowledge

**Requirements**:

- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Clerk
- Familiarity with Sage accounting procedures
- Competency in Microsoft Office, Databases and accounting software
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Ability to perform and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Well organised
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Strong math and critical reasoning skills
- Relevant certification is a plus, although not essential

**Other Responsibilities**:

- To meet for regular supervision with Line Manager and to attend Staff Meetings
- To participate in developing and maintaining good public relationships
- To promote a positive image of Age Connects Torfaen to other agencies and the general public.
- To work in accordance with Age Connects Torfaen policies and procedures.
