**Recycling Scrap Buyer - Job description.**

Asst Disposal is looking for an experienced Buyer of Non-Ferrous Metal to work within the Northwest area. With rapid growth within recycling sector, Asset are looking for a Buyer to further development the customer base and volume that will increase growth.

The successful person will be responsible for:

- Procuring and pricing non-ferrous and scrap WEEE materials within guidelines for new and existing suppliers as determined by the Operations Manager or Director.
- Generate new leads by knocking on doors speaking to new customers / exchanging details / follow up on these cold leads and transform them into warm leads with meetings to convince them to change to us for their metal recycling.
- Create new business via the internet and other forms of research, review advertised tenders, attend industry events and respond to other ad-hoc enquiries and update in the relevant database.
- Maintain business relationships with existing low to medium volume accounts via regular contact in order to meet service requirements and expectations on an ongoing basis.
- Review and accurately identify non-ferrous material and provide pricing in line with company pricing requirements.
- Ensure that purchased materials conform to specifications.
- Complete and submit monthly reports in a timely and accurate manner and participate in meetings to discuss and review results as required.
- Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives relevant to the job.
- Support training and performance-management initiatives.

**The Successful Applicant**

The successful Buyer will have the below skills and experience.
- Previous experience working in either Ferrous or Non-Ferrous Metal Recycling is essential.
- Experience within the Waste Management industry is desirable.
- You will be able to display success in sourcing, buying or trading all types of scrap metals.
- You will also be able to provide examples of past sales successes and negotiation ability.

- Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with customers.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to close deals.
- Numerical skills including the ability to work to budget within required deadlines and report on outcomes.

- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously with limited direction.
- Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent time management and planning skills and ability to prioritise tasks.

- Negotiate with vendors to obtain the best prices and terms.
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Analyse market trends and develop purchasing strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Ensure that all purchases are made in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, including invoices, contracts, and purchase orders.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
