The Apprenticeship and Widening Participation Team are responsible for clinical and non-clinical Apprenticeships, Widening Participation and Work Experience at the Trust. The team are part of Workforce Education, which is a function within the Directorate of Workforce and Organisational Development.

This is a Fixed Term contract, however, we can support a secondment for internal colleagues with Line Manager permission.

The role will include the coordination of the Trust’s Apprenticeship and Functional Skills activities. The post holder will be the first point of contact for key stakeholders both internally and externally. The scope of the work will cover a variety of staff across the organisational hierarchy.

The Trust is situated on the west coast of Lancashire and operates within a regional health economy catchment area that spans Lancashire and South Cumbria, supporting a population of 1.6 million. The Trust is a provider of specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology services across this region. The Trust does not operate outside of the United Kingdom.

The Trust provides a range of acute services to the 352,000 population of the Fylde coast health economy and the estimated 18 million visitors to the seaside town of Blackpool. Since April 1, 2012, the Trust also provides a wide range of community health services to the 445,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde, Wyre and North Lancashire.

The Trust also hosts the National Artificial Eye Service, which provides services across England.

The post will include all apprenticeship administration, enrolment coordination, data management, project support and more. The post holder will provide administrative support to Senior Management. You will be expected to provide professional advice and support to all matters relating to Apprenticeships. You will also support external careers and educational events alongside Widening Participation and sector professional colleagues.

The role will see the post holder will work closely with internal colleagues across the organisation and hierarchy and externally too. Externally, collaboration will be with other health and social care providers, education providers and local Schools and Colleges. System wide collaboration and contribution is also expected via the Integrated Care Board (ICB).
