The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a motivated and customer-centric Laboratory Services Supervisor to join the team based in Reading. In this position, you’ll have an ownership of line managing a small team of Laboratory Production Operatives and spend majority of the time being operational and helping your team preparing materials for Production Team.

This role is heavily focused on hands-on support - receiving goods-in (consumables), recovering hardware materials, media preparation etc. You’ll spend 80/90% of your time in laboratory, performing Laboratory Production Operative’s tasks. For first 3-6 months you’ll only be providing operational support, and after successfully completing probation period, you’ll take responsibility of managing a team.

This role will be a full-time, permanent position based in Hichrom in Reading - The Markham Centre, Station Road, Theale, RG7 4PE. Next to an attractive salary, we offer multiple benefits such as pension scheme, private medical and dental care, and additional day off for your birthday.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:00

The Team

You’ll belong to our business department Lab and Production Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.

What we’re looking for

**Education**:

- Five GCSE’s including Maths, English essential
- A-level or equivalent, and/ or previous working experience, ideally performing a similar role desirable

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working at a senior production/laboratory technician level or above
- Line management experience is an advantage, but we’ll consider applicants from senior roles, who are looking to progress
- Scientific support, operations support background or laboratory experience, preferably in scientific/production environment
- Experience of working to GxP regulations
