Main Purpose of JOB

To support weekend operations in achieving the required performance levels in bottling and site services including line efficiency, yield, product and packaging quality and plant maintenance in order to meet customer service expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- As part of a manufacturing team, provide effective and timely line cover, minimising setup and breakdown losses during production time
- Carry out line changeovers to agreed standards and procedures
- Maintain and improve line performance in relation to agreed targets
- Ensure planned preventative maintenance is completed as scheduled
- Provide effective first line response to Bottling operations requirements
- Participate in all operations and engineering improvement initiatives in support of the above
- Ensure continuity of work priorities and information flow during changeovers
- Multi-skill as required to meet the needs of the business
- Although cores hours will be Friday to Sunday, ability to change shifts at short notice for business-critical requirements or personal development (training etc)
- Complete all recording and reporting procedures accurately and timely through E1 and other agreed means
- Provide administrative support to the engineering team through effective written and verbal communication in support of the above
- Ensure personal and work area housekeeping standards are achieved
- Initiate, implement and follow up of minor projects in a continuous improvement environment

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Must possess a recognised trade qualification
- Ideally qualified to HNC level
- Experience on packaging lines would be beneficial, preferably in the bottling industry.
- Exercises individual core technical skills effectively, flexibly and to high personal standards of workmanship
- Displays good fabrication skills
- Knowledge of Maintenance best practice, continuous improvement and root cause analysis would be an advantage.
- Undertakes multi-skills training and to work to a level of multi-skilling in line with competence
- Contributes to the manufacturing team with a positive and flexible attitude
- Displays effective Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement skills
- Demonstrates the ability to develop new skills and train others
- Numerate and literate with good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate and able to operate business process systems e.g. EAM systems to required levels
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
- Understands and contributes to continuous improvement
- Understands KPI's and contributes to the achievement of business, departmental and business objectives
- Provides plant and process training to fellow technicians and operators
- Understands and complies with all relevant legal and company standards for Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Site Security and general housekeeping
- Identifies technical and personal development requirements in support of the above
