Daytime Healthcare are partnering with a Private High End Orthopedic and Sports Clinic in Central London who look after sports stars. They are recruiting for an experienced Senior Scrub Nurse to join their surgical centre in Central London. The company wasfounded in London by a group of leading Orthopaedic Surgeons and Radiologists, with a shared vision of building a worldwide centre of excellence in musculoskeletal care.

**Senior Scrub Nurse Job Role**:
You will be responsibile for the management and organisation of the Operating Department along with ohter staff. You will be part of a scrub team working closely with anaesthetic and recovery collegues and reporting to the Theatre Manager.

**Senior Scrub Nurse Responsibilities**:

- Lead a team of scrub practioners taking overall responsibility for the delivery of the service.
- Ensure the safe care of the patient during the perioperative phase of their care.
- Assemble, check and prepare the appropriate surgical instruments and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures incorporating various types of surgery.
- Manage the operating list, ensuring the equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner.
- Conduct mandatory surgical checks prior to the start of the procedure, during and pre wound closure.
- Monitor the patient’s condition throughout the procedure, taking appropriate action to manage any arising complications through contingency planning.
- Communicate effectively with all other members of multi-disciplinary team involved in the care of the patient.
- Monitor, order, receive and check stock items including consumables, equipment and drugs.
- Complete all written documentation in a timely manner and to an acceptable level.
- Lead and mentor the scrub team and theatre staff more widely.
- Registered Nurse/ODP
- Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in theatre practice
- Knowledge of orthopaedic day surgery
- Evidence of clinical reasoning skills across a varied patient case mix.
- Highly organised with outstanding attention to detail and the ability to prioritise information and workload appropriately
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time, reacting quickly in an emergency when required
- Effective communicator with the ability to build professional relationships.
- Evidence of continuous professional development
