Your role in the JoJo story...:
Working under the guidance of the Head of buying this role is responsible for managing the sourcing, selection and buying of the carefully curated third party range of toys. You will work closely with the JoJo Toy buying team and Toy merchandiser to ensure a balanced range. You will manage existing suppliers to drive the critical path ensuring key dates are met, and actively source new suppliers to drive innovation.

**Range Development, Planning & Trading**
- Working independently to manage the department whilst ensuring the HOB are up to date on all of the specific elements of the range.
- Analysing sales and market trends to identify product performance patterns and proposing product opportunities.
- Using initiative to source new, successful, and innovative product to ensure JoJo maintains market leading position and customer trust.
- Building a strong working relationship with the merchandising team - together developing strategies to optimise sales, producing successful seasonal channel ranging and store wardrobe plans.
- Analysing, with the Merchandising team, all sales and agreeing buy quantities for sign offs, negotiating forecasts, provisional buys and repeat purchasing.
- Being responsible for range presentations and lessons learnt to senior management and marketing.
- Ensuring stores are visited regularly and improvement opportunities are delivered.
- Working with the merchandising team to trade in-season using OTB and forecasting stock to the best advantage.
- Working with the other buyers to ensure space in store, overall options and supplier relationships are potentialised for the best overall result.
- Working with suppliers on a seasonal promotional calendar to drive sales at key times.

**Systems, Supply and Delivery**
- Using strong understanding of global business strategy to ensure all departmental KPI's such as margins, sales targets and product deliveries are achieved.
- Owning the critical path and delivery schedule - manging the team to ensure deadlines are met.
- Negotiating all prices and volumes to business requirements.
- Ensuring the team are meeting all system requirements to schedule and maintaining systems accurately.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers, identifying areas of strength and weakness, suggesting sourcing strategies to minimise risks and costs.
- Sourcing of new supply opportunities that meet our ethical / trading standards.
- Actively engaging in ethical or environmental improvements to our sourcing and supply base.
- Ensuring supplier onboarding is effective and there is a smooth relationship between suppliers, finance and supply chain to minimise disruption to stock flow.
- Ensuring supplier contracts and terms are appropriate and up to date, driving improvements as can.
- Working with the wider team to ensure suppliers are effectively following Total Platform requirements.
- Ensuring suppliers are providing appropriate compliance and certification as required. Manage the processes for FSC and Plastic Tax for toys and ensure the suppliers and team follow this process accurately.
- Responsibility for reviewing and working with Head of QA to manage critical toy issues. Ensuring appropriate actions are taken with stock both instore and warehouse and that suppliers are notified and thoroughly investigate issues.

**Web & Social Media and Marketing**
- Ensuring samples are within the business as required.
- Ensuring supplier imagery is acquired, appropriately chosen and being maximised.
- Suggesting key products to be included for in-house photography, selecting, under the guidance of others, images and ensuring images are accurate.
- Managing the web proofing processes. Being pro-active to suggest web content.
- Suggesting opportunities for Social Media to drive engagement or to help trade.
- Ensuring product is offered for sale at best advantage through imagery, text, training etc. Being proactive with driving process change if required with in store or CS training.
- Reducing returns though lessons learnt and implementing improvements.
- Work with marketing team to build key relationships and build brand awareness and participation where appropriate.

**Team Leadership**
- Taking responsibility for management and accuracy of team systems and processes.
- Under guidance from HOB, performance managing the team, overseeing training and pastoral care.
- Supporting HOB to drive strategy and business requirements.
- Developing ideas as to how to drive best practice across the team, presenting ideas to BM and managing change if needed.

**Ad Hoc**
- Visit trade shows when required.
