Reporting to the Lead Petrophysicist, the Cased Hole Petrophysicist will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
Provide petrophysical support to the TS well interventions for cased hole well data acquisition scopes:

- Acting as the subsurface intervention reference point for all intervention subsurface data acquisition scopes (e.g. PLTs etc.) from preparation through to execution.
- Independently performing cased hole log interpretations of new and legacy data in conjunction with asset GSR/PO Teams when requested (or manage delivery of third party interpretations), ensuring the appropriate level of uncertainty is captured and the results are presented in a timely manner.
- Acting as the subsurface intervention reference point for perforations / re-perforation operations. Advising on perforating design, including QA/QC of service provider simulation models, selection of perforating technique and input to the perforating pro-forma. Supplying correlation reference documentation and ensure execution of perforation / re-perforation on depth to the requested accuracy.
- Advising on specialist logging for remedial work (casing integrity, leak detection, CMI), engaging with service providers and evaluating new and existing technology.

Completions support for new well activity:

- Acting as the TS subsurface reference point for new well perforating.
- In conjunction with the Operations Geologist, Project Petrophysicist and Asset GSR Team, overseeing the design, preparation and execution of the cased hole production logging in new wells. Independently performing cased hole log interpretations of newly acquired data or manage delivery of third party interpretations.

Petrophysical support for TS drilling and wells:

- Acting as the TS subsurface focal point for well abandonment / slot recovery cement and casing evaluations. Advising on the vendor and tool technology selection and overseeing the design, preparation and execution of the cased hole abandonment logging operations.

Subsurface Abandonment:

- Contributing to the preparation of single well abandonment WSOR and full field subsurface basis of design for abandonment documentation. Coordinating with the Operation Geologist, Asset GSR Team and D&W to ensure documentation is in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Leading efforts in the development of local and global best practices for abandonment and the development of abandonment logging technology.

TS subsurface petrophysics / logging advisor support:

- Providing petrophysical and/or logging advisory support for operations and studies to the TS Subsurface Team as required.
- Contributing to the delivery of subsurface contract tender evaluations.
- Advising on coring and core analysis scopes for new wells and/or legacy data.

Training:

- Providing subsurface petrophysical training for geoscience and non-geoscience personnel as required. Scopes including, but not limited to, cased hole production log interpretation, cement bond interpretation and core / special core analysis.

New Technology:

- Leading efforts in the development and evaluation of new technology pertinent to cased hole abandonment and production logging.

Data Management:

- Contributing to the upkeep and organisation of the subsidiary’s log and petrophysical database, including management of the subsurface cased hole data.
- Working with contractors, when required, to ensure that company best practices are followed, and technically sound products are delivered.
- Contributing towards the TS petrophysical data management best practices.

Experience / Qualifications:

- A degree qualification in a relevant Earth or Physical Sciences discipline is essential. An MSc degree would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar Cased Hole Petrophysicist type role, within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
- An operations / offshore / service company background in cased holes and intervention type activities (cementing, calipers, logging - both tools and data) is essential.
- Previous experience with petrophysics and formation evaluation techniques is essential.
- Experience with both open and cased hole petrophysical evaluation work in the oil and gas industry, including well intervention and abandonment, is essential.
- Experience with petrophysical software is required (Geolog experience would be preferred).
- Knowledge of alternative software (Techlog, Interactive Petrophysics, Emeraude, Kappa etc.) for open and cased hole evaluations would be advantageous.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplined environment with exposure to subsurface oil and gas operations is essential.
