Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain & Chief Operating Officer, the Strategic Buyer will be responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing of direct and indirect material, determining quantity and timing of deliveries to meet production dates.

List of key tasks:

- Managing the sourcing and purchasing of direct and indirect material, determining quantity and timing of deliveries to meet production dates.
- Reviewing of technical specifications for materials to source correct parts and alternatives.
- Negotiate prices and contracts to maximise savings potential and contractual commitments for the business.
- Running of and managing MRP recommendations and effectively forecasting of strategic stock requirements and upcoming demand, ensuring flexible customer requirements support.
- Ensure accuracy of SAGE Master Data (Product Information) for pricing, lead-times, and supplier contact information in order to support company budget objectives.
- Providing strategic pricing information in support of Customer RFQs producing effective competitive edge for the company.
- Sourcing reliable suppliers and managing supplier performance in order to support on time, on cost on quality requirements for the company.
- Attending supplier meetings and Supplier Interface Management, ensuring performance management and continuous improvements in the supply chain.
- Professional and organised Customer interface focus for communication of information providing for the company with proficient Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Demonstrating personal leadership attributes and professional behaviour in line with for the company HR policies.
- Providing all relevant feedback of material issues and material measures.
- Play an active role within the Materials Team. This will be accomplished by:

- Identifying materials critical processes and critical success factors.
- Carrying out 5S and other Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Managing the Performance Measurement Process (PMP), Training Files and ISO Matrix.
- Co-ordinate with other Departments in order to facilitate issue resolution and participate in cross functional team projects.

The Buyer could carry out any other duties within their competences as required by the Head of Supply Chain or Chief Operating Officer.

**Working Hours**:
Hours are 7.45am-4.30pm Monday - Thursday and 7.45am - 1pm Friday. 39 hours per week.

**Remuneration**

Salary £55k - negotiable depending on experience

32 days paid leave

Pension after 3 months

On site car park
