**Head of Procurement - Tech, Central Functions and Brand (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)**

**Reports to: Director of Procurement**

**Work Location: Dublin, ROI or Reading, UK**
Procurement plays a key role in enabling Primark to deliver “Amazing Fashion at Amazing Prices” whilst supporting a significant store expansion programme and business transformation.

The Head of Procurement Tech, Central Functions and Brand is a senior leadership position within Procurement and Primark that is accountable for defining, developing, and delivering the global procurement strategy for the categories of Technology, Finance, P&C, Brand and marketing. This role ensures that through the delivery of category plans and Procurement best practice, Procurement enable Primark’s business strategy and critical initiatives/programmes including our store expansion plans, supply chain automation and Primark Cares sustainability strategy. Additionally, this role has accountability for operations with 3 resources in Supplier Setup.

This role leads a team of 12 colleagues who partner with the business to develop strategies to create competitive advantage with a focus on value creation, innovation, and risk management. The spend is c£600m per year in support of our 418 stores in 15 markets.

**Business Partnering Central Functions, Brand and Tech**
- As part of the Cost and Value realisation programme, identify opportunities for costs improvement across all value levers, work with the internal customers to get buy-in to deliver and regularly report against them.
- Accountable for business partnering with all functions in scope directly and through leading a team of business partners, advisors and coordinators to build effective and constructive relationships
- Develop Category plans with the business for all categories in scope
- Through these strategies ensure that we have the right suppliers in place that deliver the right quality at the right price
- Identify risks to Primark and mitigate by sourcing alternative suppliers or supply models
- Bring external market best practice to Primark through effective networking, industry bodies and research
- Represent the categories on relevant strategy development and planning forums
- Earn and secure a seat on the respective LT’s for all categories in scope
- Champion Primark Cares and use our GNFR supplier base to support reaching our commitments across People, Planet and Product targets
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring business alignment on critical objectives
- Ensure the business stakeholders including finance are part of decision making and support value capture.
- Ensure appropriate KPIs/SLAs in contracts, lead/attend review meetings as appropriate.
- Define, embed and critically appraise Supplier Relationship Management strategy for the category - ensure supplier segmentation is followed
- Manage suppliers through the contract lifecycle, ensure awareness of contract expiry dates in advance to develop effective strategies to renew, extend or move
- Anticipate the future growth plans of the business and ensure that the category plans in place
- Work closely with ETES throughout the sourcing lifecycle and during business as usual, to ensure Primark have a compliant supply base
- Work with New Markets and ensure category plans consider store roll expansion programme
- Develop and lead a team of Procurement professionals to deliver the business strategy
- Take a leadership role in shaping the future of the Procurement function at Primark
- Partner with ABF and ABF businesses to leverage scale and best practice where possible

**Compliance and Governance**
- Negotiate contracts with new and existing suppliers, ensuring contract terms achieve benefit to the organisation and govern the long-term relationships
- Benchmark price structures across all regions to ensure value for money through the life of a contract.
- Act as a champion of the Procurement policy, provide input to maintain its business relevance and work to support its roll out across Primark
- Identify and advise internal customers of commercial risks supply assurance issues and work to mitigate risk to protect Primark.

**Contractual / Operational**
- Ensure Primark has appropriate commercial structures in our agreements with suppliers
- Build an effective and strong relationship with the legal team, as well as other key support functions including tax, internal audit and controls
- Ensure compliance to contract approval policy via legal review and appropriate grant of authority for contracts and SOW’s
- Put in place contracts, framework and legal agreements for all suppliers as required
- Ensure the business to ensure legal frameworks and purchase orders are in place per Procurement policy
- Actively champion sustainability and be conscious of Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.
