We have a new position for a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Business Partner to lead our site Health, Safety and Environmental Teams at our southern bakeries.

Finsbury Food Group is a leading speciality bakery manufacturer. The role is to play a major part in building and embedding a culture to ensure that Finsbury Food Group is a safe place to work and visit and offers the chance to lead tactical and strategic deployment of HSE (and other) projects throughout the business.

The role is primarily based on site at our largest bakery in Cardiff, where you can manage your diary effectively between visiting our Pontypool and Salisbury bakeries and the opportunity to work at home during the week.

**This is what you’ll actually do**

As the HSE Business Partner, you’ll work with the HSER Director to develop group HSE strategy and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to create and deploy a formal Health, Safety and Environmental programme that aligns with the overall group strategy and vision. You’ll also work with the Group Energy and Sustainability Manager to develop and deliver the group sustainability strategy.

Along with your peers (HSE business partners), you will support the site SLT’s to enable them to deliver the implementation of the strategy and to ensure that this is deployed in a consistent manner throughout the business. Along with business partnering the site leadership to develop a strong HSE culture, encourage effective leadership through the development of competent individuals, worker engagement and behaviours. Also ensuring that local HSE resource in place is competent, constantly developing and implementing the required HSE plans and strategies in a coordinated way.

As the HSE Business Partner, you’ll ensure the highest levels of excellent HSE management by providing expert advice throughout the sites operations to ensure the effective management of all HSE requirements and to maintain compliance with all current statutory and legislative regulations. Setting SMART health, safety and environmental objectives with the SLT for their teams, while ensuring that risk assessments/ impact assessments are in place and that a site HSE risk register is maintained and that this is reviewed regularly.

You’ll also be responsible for leading the site HSE team in the deployment of a suitable occupational health programme, partner the site in relation to HSE and challenge where appropriate to drive continuous improvement. Along with partnering site senior leaders, and their teams, in identifying areas where environmental improvements can occur and setting in conjunction effective KPI’S aimed at environmental improvement. You will ensure the development and conformance to site specific internal HSE audits and inspections to ensure continual improvement and through on-site resource the delivery of the corrective action implementation process against all key HSE business audit standards

**Ideally this is you**
- Previous experience in a similar HSE leadership position
- Strong clear communication and Stakeholder management skills
- NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification e.g. Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- Recognised environmental qualification i.e. IEMA Foundation certificate
- Chartered member (or working towards chartered membership (CMIOSH)) of an approved safety organisation i.e. IOSH
- Practitioner member (or working towards practitioner membership (PIEMA)) of a recognised environmental organisation i.e. IEMA
- Facilitation, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and multitask coupled with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent IT skills
- Knowledge and experience of ISO type management systems.
- Current full driving license.
- Ideally Team management and coaching experience
