A great opportunity has become available for a reliable and skilled **Graduate Bid Writer - Business Development**to join a regional company recognized for developing and training its staff to succeed in their roles based in **Portsmouth.** You will join them on a **full-time, permanent** basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of **£21,000 - £23,000 per annum, depending on experience**.
Our client is a leading housing maintenance, facilities management and construction company operating across the south of England. Their teams deliver high-quality and professional construction services resulting in long-term client relationships. The companyhas a turnover of £37m and over 300 staff. Its head office is in Portsmouth with satellite offices in Southampton, Woking, Horsham and the Isle of Wight.
The company manage a combination of long-term building maintenance contracts and refurbishment/new build construction projects primarily for local authorities, housing associations, education, and healthcare institutions.
**About therole**:
The **Graduate Bid Writer**will work with the Bid Manager to support the production and completion of bids and proposal documents for new business/tender opportunities. These can range from brief summaries for individual refurbishment projectsthrough to very complex and detailed tenders for multi-million pound maintenance contracts. You will be responsible for gathering content from customer specifications and liaising with operational and support staff to generate accurate, compliant and professionalbid responses.
The role will work within the business development team but will interact on a daily basis with colleagues from operations, estimating, finance, human resources etc. As part of a small team the role will have an opportunity to be involved in every aspectof the company’s sales and marketing activity from digital and web marketing through to client engagement and promotional events. In the medium term progression opportunities exist into bid management, business development or marketing roles as the companygrows.

**What you’ll be doing as the Graduate Bid Writer**:
- Supporting the achievement of our sales targets through the creation of high quality tender submissions, bid documents and proposals
- Coordinating the completion of pre-qualification questionnaires as required
- Liaising and interacting with Contract, Operational, and Departmental Managers to obtain technical and operational information to tailor and support your answers
- Writing and developing content for tender responses which are bespoke to and capture the client’s expectations
- Developing and managing an effective library of information liaising with other departments to keep this information updated and current
- Ensuring all submission documents are free from errors, professionally represent the business, and the presentation and layout is correct and to a high standard
- Researching, analysing and identifying the customer’s requirements of a bid, and in conjunction with the Bid Manager and the Estimators produce a delivery project plan, which includes key milestones and the resources needed to deliver the bid
- Ensuring submission documents carry Company Brand and visuals/graphics are of the highest quality
- Obtaining feedback on won or lost tender submissions, using this information to improve future submissions
**What our client are looking for in their Graduate Bid Writer**:
- Some previous experience in a similar business role would be advantageous but is not essential
- Proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc)
