Shipping Assistant

An opportunity has arisen for a Shipping Assistant to join Servomex, the world leader in gas analysis. This full time permanent role sits within our Operations Team, with responsibility: Supporting the logistics and order fulfilment processes by actively packing and arranging shipment of finished product to customers and the wider business.

About the role:

- Packing goods for shipment
- Ensure packaging is of correct specification and that all goods are packaged in accordance with packaging document
- Ordering packaging materials as required and maintaining the correct levels of packing inventory
- Compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of material management or process improvements
- Any other activities which may sustain or improve the performance of Operations as a whole
- Provide assistance and cover with clearing international imports
- Take part with team meetings and contribute to weekly Gemba walks

About You:

- Experience in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
- Experience of packing and shipping
- A motivated self-starter
- Extremely numerate and literate
- Experience of ERP systems
- Experience and knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques. Implementing Lean projects
- Forklift trained would be desirable
- Experience of SAP would be desirable
- IATA dangerous goods training

Location: Crowborough, Sussex UK

**Job Type**: Full Time. Permanent
Work Schedule: 38 hrs a week early finish on Friday

**Salary**: Dependent on experience
