What will you be doing as our Town Planning Lead?

As our new Town Planning Lead you will be responsible for providing specialist planning advice and guidance, managing projects through the planning process to enable successful and efficient delivery of projects across the business. You will also support the development of an Anglian Water wide planning strategy, ensuring alignment across alliances and a joined-up approach to stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities:
Specialist advise & Planning Applications:
- Preparation of planning strategies, highlighting planning and environmental risk.-
- Provision, submission and management of Environmental Impact Assessment screening opinion requests.- Working collaborative with EIA specialists on the preparation of EIA scoping opinion requests and Environmental Statements.

Management:
- Deputise for the Enabling Manager as required, including but not exclusively sign-off of Enabling Risk Assessments and attendance at meetings.- Lead engagement activities with internal and external stakeholders.- Work closely with internal communications teams on PR strategies.- Managing overall workload of the Town & Country Planning team, scheduling resource to meet planning targets.

Communication & Collaboration-
- Work closely with local planning authorities to agree planning conditions.- Negotiation of S106 agreements with Local Planning Authorities as required.- Work collaboratively with design teams, engineers, and construction teams to help deliver schemes on time, on budget and with mínimal environmental impact.- Maximise opportunities to work collaboratively with the wider business to help ensure a co-ordinated approach to planning strategy.- Work collaboratively with the Programme Management Team and Technical Specialists who are implementing business plans to support joined up decision making, influencing and challenging programme and strategy. Liaise with Legal and other internal departments with regards to planning matters.

Digital and Training- Use digital technology to drive innovation and efficiency.- Provide training and guidance on Town & Country Planning and Environmental matters.- Help develop and mentor the Town & Country Planning team and support attainment of RTPI chartership.
