Head of Finance

A privately owned SME on the outskirts of Preston require an experienced Head of Finance to replace an upcoming retirement. Your New Role as Head of Finance:
In a rounded Head of Finance role, you will report directly to the Managing Director and form part of the Senior Management Team. Managing 2 Finance Assistants, your role will include many hands on aspects whilst providing commercial and strategic input tosupport decision making.
Duties will include:

- Ownership for the month end management accounting process including production of the P&L, balance sheet, commentary and analysis
- Production of meaningful budgets and forecasts
- Cash flow management
- Leading the year end accounting process, being the primary point of contact for auditors
- Overseeing the purchase and sales ledger
- Driving continual improvement, reviewing and enhancing existing systems and procedures
Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:
To be considered for this Head of Finance position, you will hold a full formal accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with relevant experience at a senior level within finance. You will be experienced in mentoring a small finance team to ensure skills andcareer development internally. Exposure to ERP implementations within a business is desirable as a new system will be introduced within the next 12-18 months. Additionally, you will have good commercial acumen with strong business partnering skills as youwill be required to liaise with various stakeholders, providing financial insight and challenging where required.
