To focus on the supply promoting orthoptics as a career of choice in the post-16 education systems in Hertfordshire and West Essex.
To promote and encourage the newly emerging apprenticeship routes for orthoptic education and training.
To create dedicated educational tools for regional colleges and sixth form schools.
To create orthoptic work experience offerings for students in years 10 and 12.
To work closely with colleagues in C&P, CUH and NWAFT in the promotion and scoping of apprenticeships.
To work with British and Irish Orthoptic Society (BIOS).
To participate in regional apprenticeship trailblazer group.
To provide regular (6-weekly) updates to the Orthoptic Workforce Action Group via the Chair.

To provide managerial and professional leadership for a team of orthoptists working across West Hertfordshire.
Working as an independent practitioner and as a part of a highly motivated team the post-holder will be able to deliver all levels of orthoptic investigation and assessment and be able to use highly specialist skills to diagnose and treat eye conditions as necessary.
The post holder will use advanced clinical reasoning and evidence based practice.
