Role Profile
**My client, an established engineering business in the Stockport area, is looking to appoint a Supplier Quality Engineer.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful business with a range of high profile customers and you will play a key part in developing the supplier base in order to ensure they can meet the business' current and future needs.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Support supplier evaluation process to select and onboard new suppliers with the required capabilities (cost, quality, capacity)
- Analyse performance of existing suppliers through scorecards and techniques such as 8D, APQP and FMEA
- Develop existing supplier base to drive improvements and ensure they have the necessary technical expertise for NPD projects and new product launches
- Utilise lean techniques and quality tools such as 8D, SPC and FMEA to implement and monitor against continuous improvement plans

**Skills & Experience:

- Previous experience in a supplier facing quality role such as Supplier Quality Engineering or Supplier Development
- Background in Mechanical Engineering (HNC/HND level qualification as a minimum)
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Proven track record of delivering supplier audits and supplier development plans to drive improvements and increase capability within the supply chain
- Willingness to undertake regular business travel in the UK
