SSG Support Services Group are seeking a Security Officer required for our client site based in Dumballs Rd Cardiff CF10 5FE 0800 to 1700 Monday to Friday term time. Duties and responsibilities include access and egress control, logging and recording vehicle movements at the gatehouse and transport gates, authenticating right of access, conducting Internal & External patrols, following site specific procedures, assisting in all emergency incidents, manage onsite administration, providing and maintaining the highest standards of security service and Customer Care.
- **A valid SIA Door Supervisor Badge.**
- **Excellent written and verbal communication skills.**
- **Proven experience in FOH or Corporate Security or relevant role is an advantage.**
- Be responsive to the client’s needs and work in partnership with the client and other suppliers to support the delivery of the services.
- Must be pro-active in your duties, be able to work on your own initiative and work with others.
- Must be able to work under pressure, be able make decisive decisions during incidents and difficult situations.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- ‘Meet and greet’ function whilst on post at the front of house.
- Controlling the access control systems.
- Directing visitors to the correct departments or reception area for information.
- Assisting with enquiries from building tenants and visitors.
- Ensuring that anyone entering your building has permission to do so.
- Conducting patrols and visual building checks.
- Supporting the FCC team in the event of fire/ security situations.
- carrying out weekly or audits building inspections, identifying and reporting repairs and defects.
- Undertake patrols and inspections in accordance with Assignment Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures
- Able to administer first aid
- Covering the Gatehouse and Transport Gate Duties
- Patrols of site
- Gatehouse duties if needed (only if extra training is given)
- Responding to incidents
- Incident Report writing
- Booking in/out visitors
- Body searching and using x-ray machine if needed.
- Vehicle searching if needed
- Working with a team in a busy environment
- Protecting customer’s goods
- Protecting employee and visitor property
- Carrying out Covid safety measure
- Perform lock & unlock duties
- Assist staff and visitors to site
- Greet visitors and ensure relevant security procedures are carried out
- Ensuring all H&S policies are adhered to
- In addition to these functions employees are required to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required
- Ensuring that no unauthorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas
- Maintaining an accurate record of any incidents that occur

**Requirements**:

- A valid Frontline Security Guarding, Door Supervision
- *Fully comprehensive 5 year work/education history; including full company names, addresses and landline contact numbers.
- Clear communication both written and verbal
- Excellent communication & administration skills
- Must be punctual and have the ability to think on their feet
- Reliable with excellent time-management skills.
- Smart, well-groomed and confident.
- A commitment to providing first class customer service is essential
- Willingness to undertake comprehensive foot patrols as required by the operation
- Must be a team player
- Good report writing skills
- Conflict management aware
- High level of Customer Care Awareness
- Security systems knowledge
- Telephone/switchboard skills
