**Job Title: Road Worker Gas Fitter**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Gas Pipeline Installation**: Install and connect gas pipelines according to engineering specifications and safety standards. This may involve trenching, laying pipes, and welding or joining sections together.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of gas distribution equipment, including valves, regulators, meters, and fittings. Repair or replace components as necessary to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- **Leak Detection and Repair**: Perform leak detection surveys using specialized equipment to identify and locate gas leaks. Take appropriate actions to repair leaks and prevent potential hazards to public safety.
- **Emergency Response**: Respond to gas emergencies and incidents promptly, following established protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and the public.
- **Compliance and Documentation**: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing gas distribution systems. Maintain accurate records of work activities, inspections, and repairs for reporting and auditing purposes.
- **Safety Awareness**: Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to best practices in gas handling and distribution. Participate in safety training programs and contribute to hazard identification and risk assessment efforts.

**Requirements**:

- Gas Safe registration or equivalent certification as a gas fitter.
- Experience in gas pipeline installation, maintenance, and repair preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards governing gas distribution systems.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment for welding, pipefitting, and leak detection.
- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
