**Principal Planner - Maldon District Council**

Permanent, Full Time

£37,430 - £42,585 per annum

Location: Maldon

**Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Maldon District Council to recruit a Principal Planner.**

**Exact work location**:Expectation to attend the Maldon District Council offices at least twice a week for collaborative working, business needs, training, and staff development. Ability to make adhoc site visits within the Maldon District is also a requirement of this role.

**Salary**:£37,430 - £42,585 per annum, pro-rata if part time.

**Contract type: Permanent full time (37 hours per week)**

**The Role**

**The Opportunity**

This is a great opportunity to continue your professional development, which Maldon District Council will support you in, through training (both formal and informal), regular case conferences. This role requires working as part of a collaborative team with a variety of stakeholders.

**Accountabilities**

A methodical and through approach to routine tasks and when dealing with detailed work are essential to success in these roles as well as the ability to use own initiative, meet short deadlines and commitment to the provision of a high-quality service to customers.

Effective time management, prioritisation skills and communication skills that make you stand out from the crowd are vital. To fulfil these roles you must be able to give both informal and formal presentations, be confident in your communication channels with key stakeholders across the organisation and its customers.

**The Experience You Will Bring**

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and can work under pressure with mínimal supervision. You would need to have a positive, solution-finding approach to work whilst achieving targets and meeting deadlines and be able to demonstrate being a team player. You would preferably be a current member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

**Level 2 requirements**:

- Holds a relevant qualification in Town Planning.
- Significant experience working within Planning or Development Management.
