**The Role**

A WSET Level 2 Certification is required.

The principle responsibility of the postholder will be to provide excellent customer service throughout the Macknade experience. There will also be a requirement to help in other areas across the Macknade Group as necessary.
- Develop and improve customer service, ensuring that customers receive our full attention and that nothing is too much trouble
- Assist the Wine Store Manager to grow the financial performance and profitability of the department
- Assist the Wine Store Manager to identify and implement opportunities to increase revenue, reduce costs and create efficiencies
- Take a genuine interest in the products we serve and sell within the store, learning every day and sharing this knowledge with team members & customers
- Actively participate in events including tastings and presentations
- Actively participate in our monthly & quarterly stock takes and inventory control.
- Accurately process customer purchases at point of sale
- Contribute in all team meetings and training courses
- Ensure all staff are compliant with all relevant H&S standards in the managers absence
- Manage orders and stock levels (Incl. imports), reduce wastage, manage margins & pricing and improve profitability by enhancing efficiency
- Develop relationships with producers and suppliers (incl Imports)
- Lead on the presentation of the department in the absence of the Wine store manager
- Provide energetic and inspiring leadership ensuring that staff have clear line management, responsibilities and accountability
- Ensure Wine Store staff carry out their duties to the best of their abilities always
- Oversee the correct implementation of Wine Store staff lunches and breaks
- Manager weekly rotas, holidays and sickness in line with budget.
- Manage housekeeping work schedules - daily, weekly and monthly
- Develop training schedule and identify further training needs
- Ensure all Health and Safety guidelines are followed and that all the appropriate PPE clothing and equipment is provided, worn and used when required.

Hours of work will vary with the job depending on where the emphasis of the role is on each day.

Holiday is pro rata with a full-time rate of 28 days.
