**UK Bus FP&A is at the heart of providing excellent financial process that help turn information into insight that influences the business toward impactful outcomes.**
- The FP&A Finance Business Partner will support the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to deliver the business’ objectives.
- To coordinate the delivery of monthly Board-level finance papers that provide a comprehensive analysis of performance including financials, strategic initiatives and functional KPIs.
- To lead monthly calls discussing various aspects of UK Bus’ financial performance, and to ensure that action points are addressed in a timely manner.
- With the support of the FP&A Analyst: to assist in the design and delivery of monthly reporting process improvements and automation.
- On an ad-hoc basis: to assist in aspects of coordination and delivery of quarterly reforecasts.
- Maintain and develop planning and reporting systems / tools that enhance data integrity and value analysis.
- A key member of the wider UK Bus Finance team
- Reporting & Business performance:
o To manage the coordination and delivery of key monthly reporting outputs and commentary (P&L, Capex, Cashflows, Balance Sheet) - including monthly analysis of actual results vs budget & forecast, latest view of current year

o To own the KPI reporting, planning, and development process, ensuring data integrity and value analysis for UK Bus and Arriva Group stakeholders.

o Business performance - to support production of a monthly Board-quality reporting package that includes full financial statements and key performance indicators (both financial and non-financial).

o To develop performance dashboards which drive understanding of performance.

o Performance improvement initiatives - Support performance improvement / transformation projects, tracking actual business performance against targeted expectations.

o Ensure benefit and cost tracking of key initiatives is embedded into the reporting structure to ensure sufficient transparency that is cascaded throughout the business.

o To identify & implement opportunities for process improvements (especially automation, with the support of the FP&A Analyst).
- Planning: to support elements of the quarterly financial forecasting process as needed.
- Service delivery - Provide support and insight proactively to stakeholder and identify risks and opportunities.
- Finance team - Key member contributing to the wider UK Bus finance community, supporting best practice, and driving change throughout the business.
- Ad hoc - Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments.
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA-qualified and experience of financial & performance management reporting; large organisation experience highly advantageous.
- Previous experience working in transportation sector advantageous but not essential.
- A high degree of collaboration and challenge with internal stakeholders.
- Understanding of the drivers of business performance and ability to translate into opportunities.
- Understanding of planning techniques used in short, medium, and long-term forecast horizons.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; Power Query / Power BI advantageous.
- Experience with Adaptive Insights software advantageous
- Excellent analytical / organisational skills and high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A high degree of work ethic, commitment to personal development, commercial acumen, and professional transparency.
