Elevation recruitment are currently working with a specialist, market leading manufacturing business in South Yorkshire on a key technical vacancy as they continue to further develop their engineering division in 2023. This role will centre around thegrowth and leadership of the teams CAD/CAM department with a wide range of cross functional responsibilities detailed below.
The CAD/CAM Engineer's duties and responsibilities will include:

- Generate CAM programs (inc. stage drawings, tool packs, tool sheets, program manuals) for manufacturing of parts and assemblies using current Siemens NX.
- Perform CAM simulation (using Vericut) to verify program prior to prove out on machines.
- To support NPI/industrialization projects into production - On time, to budget and required quality standard.
- To support design, development and in load of new tools and fixtures. Create tool specifications, supplier selection,
conduct design reviews, track development progress, perform production trials and implement into production.
- Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the capability of manufacturing methods.
- Identification and resolution of quality/engineering issues through effective root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Support the capital investment (CAPEX) process through identification, creating business case, justification and return
of investment (ROI) for introducing new equipment, machine and system into the business.
- To support and communicate with the operations, quality, commercial and planning teams to deliver customer
requests.
- To identify and assess new technologies which can be applied in order to give the business a competitive advantage.
Successful CAD CAM Engineers / Applicants will have experience, qualifications and skills in the following:

- 5+ years experience in manufacturing or similar industry with particular understanding CNC turning and milling
- Extensive experience with Siemens NX6-12 - Essential
- Considerable experience of using Vericut simulation software - Essential
- Extensive experience of generating and interpreting 2D drawings as per ASME Y14.5M-1994 - Essential
- 3 and 5 axis CNC - Essential
- Educated to degree level, including HND in Engineering discipline - Essential
- Fully proficient in use of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams - Essential; MS project - Desirable
