Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for a kitchen assistant to work in our new, thriving and growing Coffee Lounge here at John Doe. We produce a simple, high quality menu that we would like you to assist in delivering to a consistently high standard. The majority of your time will be spent preparing and assisting with brunch and light lunches, while maintaining a high standard of hygiene. Like any role at John Doe, this role is centred around creating a happy and pleasurable experience for all our customers through your food. **YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR**:

- Assisting in delivering a high quality café style menu consistently
- Carrying out general kitchen duties
- Ensure that all food is stored in accordance with agreed standards
- Ensure that all equipment used is well maintained and in good working order
- Ensuring quality of all dishes
- Helping to maintain a clean and safe kitchen
- Ensure that you are meeting all health & safety standards within the kitchen at all times

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**:

- Be capable of moving into a customer facing, front of house role (if required)
- Previous, relevant experience is preferred
- A passion for catering
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Trustworthy and reliable
- A team player
- Level 2 food hygiene is required
- Successful applicant must be available to work weekends
- Salary will be based on experience and credentials

**HOURS**:
Initially: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10:00am until 4:00pm

(plus holiday cover as needed, but may be some adaptability)
