Home-Start UK is the leading family charity with trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children in communities across the UK. We are an umbrella organisation of circa 57 staff that works closely with our network of 184 local Home-Starts - all independent, registered charities.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Home-Start UK is looking for an experienced Senior Individual Giving Officer to manage and grow our Individual Supporters programme. This key role is a new position within the Fundraising Team with responsibility for delivering our Individual Giving and Community Fundraising Strategy; reporting to the Assistant Director of Fundraising. It is envisaged that there will be excellent prospects for career progression as our Individual Giving and Community Fundraising grow.

Whilst you may not have experience of all the fundraising disciplines, you will have several years’ experience in direct marketing IG fundraising, be highly organised, an ambitious team player and a quick learner with brilliant relationship building skills. **Responsibilities include**:

- **Cultivate relationships with supporters** and those interested in supporting HSUK, taking supporters from their initial enquiry/ registration through a process to place them on the most appropriate supporter journey.
- **Maximising every opportunity to surprise and delight supporters**. Providing an enhanced supporter experience grounded in the knowledge that customer satisfaction is one of the three key drivers of supporter loyalty.
- **Maximising income and minimising supporter attrition **through diligent relationship management over time. Optimising the fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge NXT) and ensuring effective compliance.
- **Delivery of our fundraising strategy** working with the Assistant Director of Fundraising.
- **Financial management of the Individual Giving and Community Fundraising income streams** reviewing and delivering against agreed fundraising income targets and expenditure budgets.
- **Managing income reconciliation** for the Fundraising Department with the Fundraising Support Officer and Finance Team**.**

**Specific responsibilities of the role include**:
**Strategy and planning**
- Work with the Assistant Director of Fundraising and Supporter Engagement (AD) to develop and deliver the Individual Giving and Community Fundraising strategy.
- Translate the strategy into annual operational plans with clear deliverables for each discipline.
- Work with other departments across the charity and with our federated network of 180+ local Home-Starts as ‘one team’; to ensure our individual supporter activity is delivered effectively and efficiently to its maximum potential.
- Use supporter insight, data and external trend analysis to identify opportunities to grow the programme.
- Develop business cases with the AD for new activities; including robust figures, KPIs (including income targets) and resource requirements.
- Continually review and improve the systems and processes required to deliver the Individual Supporters programme, ensuring we’re working effectively and efficiently.

**Income, Expenditure & Finance**
- Monitor income and expenditure regularly throughout the year; reporting monthly on performance and providing rationale for any variances.
- Support the AD in preparing annual budget forecasting for the next financial year in your areas, analysing financial information in order for us to project future income and expenditure.

**Marketing & Communications**
- Develop an insight-led marketing strategy for the Individual Supporters programme working with the AD.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of all marketing activity across a range of channels including direct mail working with the Communications Manager (Fundraising) and working with the Digital Comms team on e-newsletters and social media channels.
