Hoop Professional Services are incredibly excited to be working exclusively with a client based in Cardiff who are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to help them supporting their rapid growth plans.

They need an experienced finance professional that can think both commercially and operationally in this newly formed role. Reporting into the Finance Director, as the Head of Finance you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, manage a busyfinance team of ten, and lead on the operational finance activities.

You will be an integral part the senior leadership team and will have significant interaction across the organisation. You will influence change and support the business’s commercial activities, by driving the continued development of the budgeting and reportingprocess, systems and controls, and managing our working capital.

Responsibilities will include:

- Overseeing the day-to-day activities of a busy finance team.
- Review, implement and maintain a system of controls
- Supervise and line management responsibility for the finance team members, including accountants, part qualified accountants, legal cashiers and credit control
- Developing the future structure of the finance team as the business grows
- Production of the monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow)
- Ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules across the business
- Ensure compliance with applicable HMRC rules and regulations (VAT, PAYE, Corporation tax)
- Lead the annual external audit process and delivery of the annual accounts
- Responsible for the group tax requirements
- Work closely with business’ professional advisors
- Cash, working capital and debt management
- Financial planning & forecasting, including annual Budgets and re-forecasts, working with legal and central support team leaders
- Production and communication of relevant & insightful data and analysis, setting and monitoring core KPIs, including digital transformation of reporting functionality
- Business partnering across client facing and central support teams, providing commercial financial support where necessary.
- People management - driving in addition to developing future structure.

Requirements of the role:

- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience of managing a finance team.
- Commercially minded with the ability to demonstrate senior leadership experience including working closely with senior stakeholders to develop and execute robust financial plans that support business growth
- Advanced Excel skills and proficient across all Microsoft Office
- Up to date knowledge of UK GAAP. An understanding of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and/or experience of professional services would be useful but not mandatory.
- Experience of systems/process implementation: have worked in growing businesses and ensuring financial process and controls remain efficient and effective
- Demonstrable people management skills and ability to motivate, manage and lead a team
- Strong organisational skills being able to manage your own time well
