Our client is large government organisation and looking for an experienced Highways Engineer to join their team. This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right applicant

You will

Educated to HND or degree level in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).

An appropriate professional qualification (e.g., CEng or IEng) together with membership ofthe appropriate professional body. (e.g., ICE) or clear evidence that they are working towardthese.

A suitable project management qualification e.g., Prince 2 (desirable).

Be able to carry out engineering projects with values up to £500,000 from initiation throughto completion without continual direction and with mínimal input from line manager abovethis level.

Have a good level of technical expertise.

Be able to consistently deliver projects to programme and budget, including setting targets,monitoring progress, and allocating resources.

Have good experience of contract documentation preparation.

Have effective communication and reporting skills. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Be able to consult competently with both internal and external stakeholders.

Offer engineering advice and mentor assistant engineers/students as required.

Have a good commercial awareness.

Deputise for the Senior Engineer in their absence.
