Teds has been successfully looking after dogs in the North Leeds area for over 10 years. We have a fantastic customer base with amazing dogs - all screened to ensure they’re friendly, well trained and can work in small groups.

We are looking for someone who is all about the dogs & happy to work outdoors whatever the weather.

We're looking for the type of person you’d like as your dog walker...if that's you then you’re on the right track. Reliable, honest, trustworthy and with a genuine care for the dogs you’re looking after. Our customers are amazing and love interaction and updates so you need to be a people person too.

Ideally, the successful applicant would have experience working or volunteering with dogs however we would provide a mentoring period to demonstrate how we work. It’s a physically demanding role so you’d need to be reasonably fit and not worry about bad weather or getting muddy we see that as being one of the perks

Full training and support will be given but you must feel comfortable handling three-four dogs at a time with the potential to move up to six.

This is a self employed, independent contractor position and you'll be responsible for your own fuel/insurance/costs but you will receive a minimum of 80% of each service you provide. You should expect, after costs, to be earning around £12-£13 per hour after training.
- Be available Monday - Friday between 9.00-15:00 (hours may be flexible on times depending on the bookings but we need someone available 5 days a week)
- Have a full, clean driving licence and vehicle. Ideally a Van/Teppe or any other vehicle suitable for accommodating at least 6 dogs.
- Be happy to drive (pick ups / drop offs)
- Have an up to date DBS check
- Be happy to be self-employed - we can help guide you through this - it’s really simple and we’ll be doing a large chunk of your admin for you.
- Having a keen love of dogs, experience is essential.
- Be able to provide two references from prior employment or educational establishment.
- To be able to commit to a one year contract.

We are looking for someone who’s lifestyle fits in with the hours we work, and who is looking to work with us for a significant period of time and potentially have a career in this industry. We will NOT consider applicants who are looking for temporary, holiday or summer work.

As a small company, we rely heavily on our walkers and reliability is absolutely essential. We need you to turn up on time every day without fail - if you aren’t 100% sure you can commit to this, please don’t apply

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Collecting from and dropping dogs back home.
- Walking small groups of dogs in a controlled manner.
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all the dogs in your care at all times.
- Provide a fun and stimulating walk for the dogs and puppies.
- Deliver and maintain basic training with all puppies and dogs - we work in line with the Kennel Club Good Citizen Code.
- Maintain all standards set by Teds.Dog in delivering a high quality service.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- DBS - up to date, clean DBS is a must.
- Clean drivers licence.
- Ideally, experience with working with/managing a number of dogs (not essential)
- 2 work references.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Freelance
Part-time hours: 15-30 per week

**Salary**: £12.00-£15.00 per hour
