An opportunity has arisen to join Upskill Football Coaching as a part time football coach.
To be a part of the Upskill Football Coaching Team you will be responsible for the delivery of coaching sessions and managing various age groups. This role demands an individual, passionate and purposeful about football and young people alike, committed to their own personal-development and driven to enhance the prospective success of Upskill Football Coaching in line with our vision, values, and philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching:
- Responsible for planning and delivering high quality technical and tactical coaching sessions for your respective age group.
- To be fully responsible for the safety and welfare of all players under your care and maintenance of all training equipment.
- To abide by the Upskill Football Coaching Handbook.
- To evaluate players learning from coaching sessions.
- To ensure all players adhere to Upskill Football Coaching's culture and values and show a high-level of respect and discipline.
- To complete CPD (Continuous Professional Development) to ensure coaching qualifications are maintained and enhanced.
- When required offer coaching support to other areas and different departments.
Player Development:
- To liaise on a regular basis with the Head of Coaching to ensure the needs of all participants are catered for.
- To support the development of all players through a healthy lifestyle and insightful learning.
- To develop and maintain a professional relationship with parents/carers of participants across all of our sessions and programmes.
Safeguarding:
- Monitor potential safeguarding risks and work with the Upskill Football Coaching management team to promote a safer working practice throughout.
- To understand and abide by all policies including Safeguarding, Equality, and Health & Safety. Use this to ensure a safer recruitment, safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and positively contribute to an anti-bullying environment.
- To follow whistleblowing procedures if there is anything that raises concerns.
Qualifications:
Essentials:
- FA Level 1 in Coaching Football (required)
- Valid FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
- Valid Basic First Aid for Sport Certificate
- Full Driving Licence
Personal Attributes & Skills Required:
- Energetic, Pro-active & Passionate.
- Excellent communicator both orally and written, who places high value on attention to detail.
- Personable and enthusiastic with a very strong work ethic to set high standards.
- An ability to adapt quickly, be flexible in the face of change and solution orientated. An ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends with varied hours.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High levels of customer service; promptly respond to queries, and manage expectations professionally.
- Willingness to travel.
- Comfortable leading and coaching a session by themselves, with no support coach present.
Experience & Knowledge
- At least 2+ years coaching, working within a range of sessions and programmes including a school environment.
- A strong understanding of how to plan, set up and deliver a football session with session topics and objectives identified.
