Shallow Nurseries intends to become the first choice for trade and contractor plant sales in the New Forest therefore a wholesale assistant it is required to work in our newly renovated Trade and Wholesale area. This role offers great potential for the right applicant as they will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the trade side of our business from the start. It also gives them the opportunity to grow the business and share in its success. The Trade / Wholesale assistant will be responsible for meeting the horticultural needs of our trade and wholesale customers by providing a friendly, prompt and helpful customer service experience. They will greet customers, assist them in making choices and operate our trade checkout.

The Trade / Wholesale assistant reports directly to the Horticulture Manager. Full support and additional training opportunities will be offered so the successful applicant can grow to meet the needs of the role.

This interesting position with both manual and administrative elements can be initially either part or full time because it is possible to share the role.
- Basic computer skills. Experience of using growmaster is an advantage but not necessary as training will be given.
- The ability to form successful working relationships with other team members and work independently.
- A reasonable plant knowledge to identify the right plant for clients.
- A friendly and welcoming personality. Whilst this is not a salesmen role, the ability to make the most of the sales opportunities presented is a valuable skill.
- The ability to follow procedures and an understanding of its importance.
- Flexibility to work in other roles and departments as necessary and a strong work ethic.

Hours: Part or Full time (24-40 hours).
