Trainee Fire Safety Advisor

We are a bespoke consultancy based in Hitchin, providing professional fire safety services, health and safety, and construction safety support for clients, across the south of England, but mostly located in Greater London.
We support clients in extensive, complex and innovative services, mainly for purpose-built blocks of flats, but works can include commercial facilities, business support and construction sites.
This is a junior role and is limited to applicants aged of 23 or under.
Experience in fire safety is desirable, however full training is provided as part of this role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience in a career in health & safety, fire safety and develop their skills in a fast-paced environment.
Please note that this is an office-based role working in Hitchin from Monday - Friday with regular travel required. The role requires flexibility to be able to travel to site when required, mainly to London and possibly other locations in the UK from time to time - all expenses for travel beyond the office are covered.
**Requirements**:
- You must as a minimum have A Levels, and preferably some relevant work experience.
- You should be a committed confident self-lead individual. It is important you are able to work under your own initiative and able to make decisions.
- You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- You will need to be an all-rounder, flexible, and able to adapt to evolving tasks.
- MS Word and Excel knowledge, experience, and the ability to write professional reports is essential.
- You will need to be fluent in English writing and grammar.
- There will be a requirement to travel to our sites with this role, so you will need to have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel to sites would be useful, although company cars may also be provided.
- Due to the nature of the work, as travel requirements to sites and client requirements will mean hours will vary when attending sites due to site travel requirements. This will mean occasionally an earlier start/finish or later start/finish.
- You should be based within travelling distance of Hitchin for commuting to the office, preferably with direct train access to London.
**Role**:
- Visiting sites and delivering Fire Risk assessments in the residential and commercial sectors.
- Providing complete and competent fire safety advice.
- Identify solutions to fire safety related problems.
- Liaising with clients providing fire safety advice.
- Fire Door audits and inspections.
- Health and Safety audits and assessments.
- Supporting preparation of documents, policy and procedures.
- Keeping up to date with current legislation.
- Participating in CPD activities.
- Achieving your register of competent fire risk assessors to a higher level or gaining initial status.
**Training**: You will shadow a Fire Risk Assessor until you have completed your NEBOSH Fire Certificate and have undertaken formal Fire Risk Assessment training to become a Technical Member of the IFSM. **Salary**: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year (experience related) rising to £35,000.00-£40,000.00 after 2 years (competence related).
