The Research and Development department within Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust are recruiting an R&D Contracts Associate.
This dynamic, lively and diverse department has the breadth of knowledge and skills to ensure that this high level of research activity and associated research processes are managed smoothly and efficiently.
The R&D Department at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) is one of the focal points for innovative research in London through its nationally recognised research portfolio and research infrastructure. The broad ranging research portfolio includes our academic partner King’s College London, numerous NIHR Programme and Project Grants, as well as a Research Scheme for academic consultants. In addition the Trust is a stakeholder in the accredited Academic Health Sciences Centre, King’s Health Partners, and also the Joint Clinical Trials Office. The R&D Department also supports the Phase 1 accredited Clinical Research Facilities. As well as hosting the South London Comprehensive Local Research Network (CLRN), the Trust is a major player in the South London network both in relation to the national research study portfolio and accruals into studies.
Full-time R&D staff are required to work in the office three days a week (part-time staff's attendance is pro-rata). Part-time applicants (No less than 0.8 WTE or 4 days per week) and other flexible working will be considered such as compressed hours and term-time only. However, all R&D Governance staff are required to work some of the time in the office (3 days per week) at Guy's hospital and be available to visit our three research hospitals across London to collaborate with colleagues and support our researchers and research delivery teams.
The post-holder will be responsible for supporting non-commercial research contracts team. In particular, The post holder will be responsible for supporting non-commercial research contracts for studies where the Trust is acting in a participating site capacity; drafting and executing material transfer agreements and contract amendments for the non-commercial team; and participating site agreements for multi-centre, national studies where the Trust is either Lead Sponsor or Co-Sponsor with King’s College London for both Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products and non-drug trials.
Additionally the post holder will be responsible for ensuring all contract data and documents are recorded on the R&D database (EDGE) to enable the R&D Department to produce effective and accurate reports for government inspections.
You will be an experienced administrator with excellent communication skills and ideally with experience of NHS, academic and / or commercial contracts i.e. MnCAs and MTAs although full-training will be given. You will have great attention to detail, excellent communication skills and enjoy liaising with colleagues and staff at all levels. You will have an organised and methodical approach to your work.
