My client currently has an exciting opportunity for an Tax Assistant to join their office based in York As an Tax Assistant you’ll assist with a variety of administrative tasks to support the wider business.

The Tax Assistant is responsible for assisting clients with their tax planning and compliance matters. This position will work closely with the firm’s attorneys, accountants, and tax consultants to assist clients in preparing and preparing their federal and state tax returns.
- Work will include supporting the group tax team on ad hoc projects, which may include compiling and reviewing invoices for tax treatment under supervision of the Group Tax Manager
- Will likely suit a smart newly or part qualified accountant who has an awareness of UK taxes either through study or work experience, who is personable and a confident communicator with good excel skills. Training and guidance will be given where more detailed tax knowledge is required.
- Based on the outskirts of York with free parking. Will consider reduced hours working.

**Essential Duties**:

- Provide support to clients with tax planning and compliance matters.
- Work closely with the firm’s attorneys, accountants, and consultants to prepare and prepare clients for their federal and state tax returns.
- Prepare tax returns for individuals, LLCs, C-corporations, trusts, trusts/farms, partnerships, S-corporations, W-corporations, federal and state income tax filings.
- Prepare individual and business income tax returns.
- Prepare individual income tax returns for small business clients.
- Prepare individual business entity tax returns.
- Prepare individual partnership tax returns.
- Prepare individual real estate tax returns.
- Prepare individual sales and use tax returns.
- Prepare individual employment tax return preparation.
- Assist clients with various other federal and state income tax matters as requested by the firm’s attorneys, accountants, or consultants.
- Participate in internal audit training programs as requested by the firm’s leadership team.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
