Job Description:
Venator is currently recruiting for a Safety Advisor to join the EHSQ team at Greatham site.

The overall purpose of the Safety Advisor role is to provide practical occupational safety and industrial hygiene advice and support to meet the needs of defined site teams.

Job responsibilities include:
- Advise and support the practical implementation of occupational safety and industrial hygiene management systems and processes, to meet the needs of defined site teams.- Develop and sustain occupational safety and industrial hygiene management systems and processes, to meet agreed objectives.- Support the development of a positive safety culture across the site.- Plan and implement work to promote understanding and raise awareness on occupational safety and industrial hygiene topics across site teams.- Support effective contractor leadership and management processes through assessment, measurement, communication and engagement, to promote behaviours and standards in the field which align with our expectations.- Assist the site’s Engage Behavioural Safety process to ensure its sustained effectiveness in promoting a positive safety culture.- Plan and deliver training in aspects of occupational safety and industrial hygiene to meet the needs of site teams.- Lead, facilitate and support line management in response to an incident and its subsequent investigation; ensuring timeliness, thoroughness and effectiveness.

Job-Related work experience, Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
- A Safety practitioner, qualified to NEBOSH certificate or equivalent, supported by further education qualifications e.g. HND.- BOHS Industrial Hygiene qualifications or equivalent, relevant to the chemical industry e.g. vibration, noise, manual handling, COSHH.- Substantial relevant practical experience of the implementation of occupational safety and industrial hygiene best practices within industry.- Strong interpersonal skills are required to influence behaviours in support of developing a positive safety culture. This would primarily be achieved through being a visible presence on site, engaging with, coaching, policing and proactively supporting associates and contractors at various levels within the organization.
