Finance Assistant

The Finance Assistant will play an essential role in providing support to the Finance Manager. Through maintaining financial systems, recording and processing financial information, data entry and general financial administration, the Finance Assistant will ensure effective financial management across the company.
We are looking for a Finance Assistant who is keen to learn and grow with the company. As part of this appointment there will be a focus on training and growth, with the scope to increase responsibility as the role develops.
**Hours**: 37.5 per week on site (Monday to Thursday 8.00 am to 4.30 pm; Friday 8.00 am to 3.15 pm

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Purchase Ledger including reconciling invoices to delivery notes, coding of invoices in line with company coding structure and processing on the company's accounting system
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Supplier payments
- Recording and coding petty cash expenditure
- Reviewing and processing staff card expenses
- Assisting in the preparation, processing and recording of weekly production wages
- Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports
- Undertaking other finance administrative tasks and general support to the Finance Manager as required
- Complying with company policies
**Personal Specification**
**Essential**
- At lease 2 years experience working in a busy accounts department
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication skills
- High level of numeracy and financial awareness
- Ability to manage workloads and work to deadlines
- A high level of computer literacy and knowledge of IT systems, including excellent knowledge of Excel
- Ability to work as a team and be able to use own initiative to solve problems proactively
- Organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work with complete confidentiality
**Desirable**
- Experience of Sage 200 and Sage 50 Payroll
- Good IT skills including Office 365 (Excel/Word/Outlook/SharePoint)
