**What you need to do
- Provide strategic oversight as we shape and develop our approach to Branded and Own Label Supplier Planning
- Lead the Finance team responsible for providing insight and analytical support to our commercial teams on Supplier Planning activity (direct and indirect reporting lines)
- Provide constructive challenge to ensure that we set appropriate targets, deliver against our plans, and realise benefits
- Partner with Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders and provide decision-making support, including return on investment analysis, scenario modelling and analysing negotiation outcomes to understand the financial impacts of Supplier Planning across the Sainsbury’s Food business Ensure that we remain compliant to all relevant financial accounting standards as well as the Grocery Supply Code of Practice

**What does success look like
- Develop and document the Finance Operating model for Supplier Planning
- Build Finance capability with a focus on understanding Supplier Economics in support of Branded and Own Label models
- Develop an in depth understanding of commercial levers and Supplier business models
- Ensure appropriate controls and governance are in place to manage the programme of work and support the team and stakeholders
- Drive alignment across the business and ensure that target benefits are agreed and understood, and the tracking is in place to understand benefit realisation Deliver business outcomes without compromising our values, and make Finance a great place to work

**What you need to know and show**
- Qualified accountant -CIMA/ACCA/ACA [desirable]
- **Own It**: Applies experience working in large FMCG, Food or Retail business and an understanding of Commercial Margin levers and Food Supplier business models to create value for the business
- **Make it better**:A problem solver, with a track record of bringing structure and simplicity to complex problems. Excellent forward planning and organisation skills, experience working on large projects.
- **Be human**:Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, and articulate finance for non-finance. Very good networking and partnering skills

This position reports to the Finance Director for Food Trading and leads (directly and indirectly a team of c15).
