Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Export Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in answering all enquiries related to export customs compliance within the organisation. With exceptional Export & Compliance knowledge, this role will ensure documentation and instructions meet all HMRC compliance requirements along with those of both internal and external customers.
You will work as part of an existing 2 person Customs Compliance Team. There may be some requirement to flex hours to support the Team and Operational needs.

**How You Will Contribute To The Team**:

- As an Export Compliance Coordinator you will assist all legal questions related to customs within the organisation
- You are in charge of auditing customs export processes:

- Advise all employees involved in export activities with regard to customs and export and trade matters, taking into account the applicable restriction will also be one of your tasks
- Management of GE external forwarder and brokers to ensure continued compliance.
- You will ensure that GE is properly managing special customs procedures and regimes enabling GE to save customs duties and taxes through the authorizations with the relevant UK Customs Authorities.
- You will be naturally inquisitive, seeks to stay on top of Compliance needs in an ever-changing environment
- You will have thorough HMRC understanding and a full and experienced knowledge on the criticality of the accuracy and impacts of inaccuracies
- You will work closely with the internal Global Customs Team and build strong partnerships with key Global Stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and results success - customers, compliance, warehouse, IT teams

**Skills**:

- Experience in customs systems and SAP ERP is a clear advantage
- Your knowledge of logistics and supply chain is highly appreciated
- Ideally you have experience in the aviation industry
- Knowledge of finance and controlling as well as knowledge of quality is a plus
- You are confident in reading and understanding complex documentation
- Proven Knowledge of UK Export rules and guidelines essential
- Demonstrated understanding of export compliance requirements and dependencies linked to effective programme execution
- Proven ability to influence at all levels within the company and within the customer community in addition to demonstrating strong collaboration skills and a proactive approach to relationship building/partnering
- Experience leading Export Control audits and investigations
