We are looking for an experienced Clinical Physiologist to join our friendly Neurophysiology Team.

The Neurophysiology Service holds a current IQIPS Standard, (Improving Quality in Physiological Services) from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

Our department consists of a small, friendly team and has a pleasant and spacious working environment with state of the art diagnostic equipment.

The Neurophysiology Department is based at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax, West Yorkshire and provides an extensive range of highly specialised neurophysiology diagnostic procedures for patients of all ages from a range of specialities. Neurophysiology investigations include EEG, EMG, Nerve Conduction studies, evoked potentials, and home telemetry.

We undertake a variety of investigations for a range of specialties, in the department, wards, ICU and SCBU. We have a busy direct access service open to GP referrals.

- To assist in Consultant/Speciality doctor led Nerve Conduction/Electromyography clinics.
- To learn or be able to perform independent Carpal Tunnel/Ulnar nerve NCS screening.
- Take and record a full patient history prior to each investigation and following this if necessary, modify the plan/procedure to achieve the best outcome for the patient.
- Work collaboratively on a day-to-day basis with others to contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the service.
- Provide support and assistance to Neurophysiological staff in dealing with difficult and conflicting situations including those that are of a clinical/professional nature.
