The Human Resources Assistant supports the organization by performing special projects and assisting with general HR administration regarding benefits, payroll, training and development, legal compliance, talent acquisition and recruitment, and other human resource issues. The HR Assistant will ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with payroll by updating employee files, bonus/incentive pay, tracking vacation/sick pay, hourly employee validations, and benefit changes.
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form to ensure legal compliance.
- Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment efforts by sourcing and interviewing potential applicants on experience, skills, and education. Update job descriptions as needed.
- Construct and place employment ads, while maintaining the applicant tracking database.
- Conduct background screenings for prospective employees.
- Prepare offer packets, benefit packets, and other employee related information.
- Coordinate employee benefit eligibility, enrollments, terminations, and payments.
- Prepare employee census information for insurance, 401(k), and other reports.
- Provide written and verbal employment verifications.
- Investigate and mitigate employee relation matters.
- Process and respond to unemployment benefits claims.
- Assist with workers comp claims.
- Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate a smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinate with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
- Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
- Recommend new procedures and policies to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and organization, and to improve the employee experience.
- Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies, manuals, and employee handbook.
- Develop and coordinate training classes or meetings.
- Manage the annual employee performance reviews process.
- Assist with research for policies, training, strategic planning, and other human resource issues.
- Coordinate benefit plan due diligence with Director, Human Resources.
- Assist in the preparation of special events.
- Process invoices on behalf of the Human Resources Department.
- Assist with additional projects, as assigned.
- Experience:

- 3 years Human Resource administrative experience
- Knowledge/Skills:

- Able to handle company and employee sensitive information on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of processing payroll using punch edit clock/system
- Organized, detailed, and results oriented individual.
- Deadline driven.
- Professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office.
- Highest Customer Service attitude at all times.

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£27,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Liverpool, Merseyside: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
