The Royal Stoke University Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic dietitian to work in the acute hospital, to support the dietetic service for Gastroenterology, working alongside a very experienced and dynamic lead dietitian.

The successful applicant will be working within inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology and hepatology, caseloads working closely with a well-established dietetic team in a range of specialties.

The Gastroenterology department at the University Hospitals of North Midlands cares for the needs of the Staffordshire population, it is a regional Centre for Upper GI cancer, as well as non-transplant hepatology. The department has 11 Gastroenterologists and Clinical Nurse specialists. There is a 32 bedded specialist inpatient ward, where the gastro dietitians are well respected and are embedded into the MDT.

The post holder will be integral in further developing the service, working with the wider MDT to develop best practice clinical pathways for this patient group which includes IBD, IDS, Coeliac disease, hepatology and complex gastroenterology patients requiring intensive dietetic input.

The successful applicant will have clinical experience and interest in gastroenterology/ hepatology, demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to evidence their continuing professional development.

You will develop and take part in patient education events, student training and staff teaching and support the team in audit and service developments. This post is ideal for a dietitian wishing to develop their skills; there is a good track record of introducing our dietitians to specialities and supporting career aspirations.
