We are currently recruiting for a Merchandiser to work as part of the trading team, reporting directly to the Head of Merchandising & Fulfilment. The role of Merchandiser will seek to drive revenue, profit and reputation of all RA shops and sales channels.

Supporting the Head of Merchandising & Fulfilment and the Head of Buying with forecasting and analysis on key categories, the role contributes significantly to forward annual and seasonal planning and product cycling and range management, ensuring all channels are equally supported.

**About You**

You will have significant experience working with Microsoft Dynamics or Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar within a consumer retail Merchandising environment, ideally in omnichannel or ecommerce.

You will ideally have worked with a variety of product categories, including print and paper product, homeware, jewellery, fashion and accessories.

An understanding of trading and market trends is key, as is the ability to demonstrate understanding of the RA product mix and USP, using your skills and experience to drive sales, margin and efficiency across the supply chain, ensuring business goals are achieved.

You should possess strong negotiating skills combined with tact and diplomacy, technically you will be confident in producing reports and analysis from scratch and presenting to all levels.

You will have proven experience of managing third-party relationships as well as internal clients, managing a diverse portfolio of product types and suppliers.

The RA dates way back to 1768 when a group of artists and architects persuaded King George lll to help them to ‘establish a society for promoting the Art of Design'. The original academy, in Pall Mall, was less than 10 meters long. Since then, there have been many changes, though the RA’s core purpose of bringing art and design to a broad audience and championing art and artists still holds true.

Today we are a contemporary art organisation hosting internationally acclaimed exhibitions and through investment in employee training and development, with courses such as Unconscious Bias, LGBTQ+ Awareness, Bystander, and Mental Health First Aid training, we are striving to foster a safe space for everyone through positive action.
