We are excited to offer the opportunity to join the integrated healthcare team at HMP Ranby in the role of Band 3 Mental Health & Substance Misuse Support worker.
Working within our Mental Health and Substance Misuse teams you will be providing care that is equivalent to that provided in the community. There are qualified nurses and allied healthcare professionals on site 24 hours a day.
You will work as a member of the team in delivering, implementing, and monitoring of care packages within a secure environment. Working within well established procedures, providing support to Mental health and Substance Misuse practitioners and patients.
What’s the job?
You’ll be an integral part of our nurse led healthcare team delivering consistent, equitable, high quality and timely healthcare to our patients within the prison. You’ll be helping us to make a real difference by offering a positive health experience to a group of patients who are identified as experiencing poor health outcomes.
**Your duties will include**:
- supporting the nurses to complete clinical assessments
- conducting your own clinics e.g. ECGs, Blood pressure monitoring, venepuncture
- assisting with nurse led clinics for long term conditions
- health promotion activities
- responding to emergencies
This is a 7 day service and you will work to a rota.
