**Web Editor**

My client is a media publisher in the digital gaming and tech sector, by providing there readers with unbiased, honest reviews as well as in-depth buyer guides, up to date PC build recommendations, how to’s, answer to frequently asked questions and the latest in gaming, tech.

Due to significant expansion and recent acquisitions, they are now looking for an experienced editor to join the Manchester office to lead one of their flagship websites dedicated to PC games and PC gaming hardware.

The editor’s role is to oversee scheduling, management and production of all content. The job will require peerless resource management skills in order to ensure that content is delivered on time across the site as well as working closely with our dedicated SEO, video and social media teams to ensure brand consistency across all platforms. As well as managing the team of writers and content creators, the editor will be expected to contribute copy where necessary and develop a long-term strategic content plan to meet traffic targets. The editor will also be required to act as the public face of the site, taking part in podcasts and interviews, and maintaining a high standard of work across the site.

**Key Responsibilities for the Web Editor**:

- Manage staff and schedules for all content across site and its related assets on a daily basis.
- Assisting staff in developing their skills and helping them to advance their careers within the company.
- Developing long-term content plans in collaboration with editorial and social teams.
- Ideating new content ideas and content campaigns which reflect and preempt market trends in PC gaming.
- Manage and grow audience and traffic using SEO best practice to meet target metrics.
- Developing strong professional relationships with relevant external companies, PR agencies and other key industry stakeholders.

**Must Haves for the Web Editor**:
Proven experience of team management in an online or editorial environment.

Proven experience of managing workflow in a publishing environment.

Excellent knowledge of SEO and traffic acquisition.

Able to use WordPress and Google Analytics to a professional standard.

Excellent copy editing skills.

Keen attention to detail.

Keen interest in PC gaming.

Specialist knowledge of PC hardware and components.

A keen eye for content trends and how to optimise editorial output to suit current audience needs and brand objectives.

**Desirable**
- Experience of workflow scheduling tools such as Nifty.
- Experience of working with Amazon affiliate links.
- Experience working with web designers and graphic artists.
- Experience of Hardware industry events and relevant contacts.
- Experience of optimising content specifically for social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok etc).
