In the 7 years since we’ve launched we’ve proven the demand for this service. More than a 100,000 people have sold through us, we rehome millions of items every year and still some how it still feels like we are just getting started. The world is awash with old items gathering dust, and we are committed to developing the services and technologies people need to easily sell them.
We aren’t doing this entirely alone. We’ve raised VC investment from Dutch Founders Fund and Airbridge Equity Partners, including from the founders of WeTransfer, Just Eat Benelux and TreatWell. About the role:*
We are looking for a sharp, innovative and pragmatic leader to take over the ownership of technology from our founder and various department heads, and inspire the organisation at all levels for its potential to drive the business forward.
We’re developing an unrivalled ecosystem of products to help people sell, while tackling the immediate challenges the businesses technologies face ahead of scaling. This will require a mix of flexible but standard internal systems (CRM, MRP) to connect with our bespoke toolset and over time, physical automation too.
You will lead the continuous improvement of our bespoke toolset which enables an effective mix of experienced and junior product specialists to appraise and buy products, as well as sell through a range of channels. A creative use of Data Science and Machine learning powers our product pricing, and you will lead the direction of this. Image recognition has the potential to serve both internal appraisals as well as customers from home and we have made steps towards developing the fundamentals of our own engine.
To help you deliver on the vision, you’ll build a world class technology team that’s ready to tackle any challenge head on. You’ll join an ambitious and diverse leadership team that are passionate about the potential for this brand and its impact on people, product and the planet.
This role is perfect for someone with experience as a CTO for consumer services, who has had global responsibility for a brands technology.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:
**The core 3**:
- Bring all our existing technologies into one unified platform and data warehouse
- Own the planning and execution of our technology roadmap and its budget
- Recruit, coach and lead the development and data teams, balancing outsourced resources with inhouse across geographies
**Additional**:
- Strike a balance between inhouse development and off the shelf solutions
- Build industry-disrupting online experiences for users to sell and buy
- Expand the sales channels we are integrated into and develop our own to sell through
- Keep abreast of developments in AI, seeking opportunities to strengthen our roadmap You are:

- A related Degree or relevant qualification is essential
- You have held at least two prior CTO positions in a high growth environment
- Experience working primarily in-house is required
- Core Tools/ and technologies optimal experience: Customer Data Platforms (CDP),
- CRM/Database, Marketing Automations, Inventory Management Platforms, Ecommerce store.
- Additional experience of interest: ML, Image recognition, AWS, Natural Language
- Processing, Warehouse automation, Auction software.
